iPhone 6 Plus

Just like my previous post, here is what the following reviews said about the iPhone 6 Plus. Once again, I would take these with a pinch of salt.

The Verge – “I can’t see myself ever using my iPad mini again after having the 6 Plus, and it’s getting harder and harder to justify pulling out my iPad Air. With the right software changes, I could basically use an iPhone 6 Plus all day long, for everything from sending messages to editing documents to watching videos.” (Score: 8.7)

Engadget – “The iPhone 6 Plus is difficult to use one-handed, not to mention more uncomfortable than similar-sized phones. In exchange, though, you get more of an iPad-like user experience on a much smaller device. It also has better battery life than the smaller iPhone 6, as well as a better camera. Keep that in mind as you’re deciding between the two devices.” (Score: 87)

TechCrunch – “The First Truly Well-Designed Big Smartphone. The iPhone 6 is still the best smartphone for your money in my opinion, owing mostly to the fact that the majority of people are going to feel most comfortable using a smaller device as their daily companion of choice. But the iPhone 6 Plus surprised me: I went into this review expecting to find it was a niche gadget, reserved for those seeking the absolute top-of-the-line, convenience be damned. Instead, I found myself getting strangely comfortable with a phone I still find difficult to use one-handed. In short, the 6 is my favorite current smartphone, but the 6 Plus is its closest competition.”

Mashable – “I won’t be carrying that giant device in my pocket … I prefer the iPhone 6. If you must have a phablet, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus is a powerful and attractive choice.”

TechRadar – “The iPhone 6 Plus is the best looking phablet around. Its specs don’t match the Android power houses and it can be tricky to hold, but there’s no denying Apple’s beautiful (yet expensive) 5.5 incher is a winner.” (Score: 4.5)

Stuff – “If size is everything, the iPhone 6 Plus has a lot going for it, but it’ll be too big for many.” (Score: 4)

CNET – “The iPhone 6 Plus is too big for everyone to love it, but it’s Apple’s best phone this year. If your budget and your pocket can make room for it, give the iPhone 6 Plus serious consideration.” (Score: 4.5)

The Guardian – “Choosing between the iPhone 6 Plus and the smaller iPhone 6 could be surprisingly difficult if your hand, and your wallet, is large enough. It is large, yet the extra screen space is a boon. But that also makes it unwieldy, and could increase the risk of dropping it. Compared to other phablets, it’s lighter and thinner – but not cheaper.” (Score: 5)

The Telegraph – “Apple’s iPhone is the device that revolutionised the smartphone; the iPhone 6 is not so big an innovation as that. But with the 6 it’s as close as the company has come to a flawless reinvention, and with the 6 Plus there’s now, finally, an option that should satisfy those who hunger for more real estate. The reasons to buy an Android phone have never been fewer.” (Score: 5)
